Jovana + Kids || A Townsville Family
Before I dive in, how freaking amazing is Jovana’s house! I fell instantly in love, with everything, the books, furniture, art … the whole lot, ok moving along now.
I knew from the moment Jovana contacted me that I was going to love hanging out with this gorgeous little family. From her questionnaire I got a sense of who she is and a passionate glimpse of her love for her two children. The biggest concern going into our shoot was that the children would loose interest and not co-operate and since the youngest, a lively, free spirited, 4.5 year old, hadn’t had a nap that day, you can bet that happened. The thing about photographers and mothers is that we just roll with it. We know kid’s have big personalities bursting to break free and there’s nothing you can do about that. So, we just hung out in this beautiful space and did what they do every afternoon, played games, colouring, reading and then ventured outside for more fun. And you know what? Their life is beautiful and intimate and raw and perfectly photographic just as it is but it’s easy to miss that when we are too close.
When I look through these photos I see the same tenderness I felt when I first read Jovana earnest expression of love. I see an affectionate six year old boy who’s depth is beyond his years and will serve him well as he grows. I see a very cheeky girl who’s smile, laugh and personality is so apparent you can’t help but fall in love. But most importantly I see a Mumma who’s devotion is palpable. I hope you can see that too, then my job will be complete.

Wow, what an amazing Mumma you are. We are all well aware of my love for the home you have curated but I am equally in awe of your light and love for your kids.
You are doing the most fabulous job at raising these tiny humans and there were moments while I was visiting that took my breath away. These two have a fantastic emotional intelligence and that is a credit to you.
There is very little else for me to say except, continue as you are and NEVER doubt your worth or ability as a parent.
