Baby Marlo + Tribe || A Townsville Newborn

Sweet child of mine
If there were only one gift I could give you in this life, it would be the blessing of an open mind - I beg you to never become satisfied with what you know and think it will be enough. Stay hungry, stay curious. Always seek to improve, and give back. This world is not black and white, but a kaleidoscope of all the shades in between, do your very best to try to see them all. Understand and accept that you are ever changing - this is necessary, embrace it. See this experience we call life with your beautiful open heart and mind, take it all in, one breath at a time.... there is beauty all around you, and you are one with it ✨

Parenthood is chaotic at the best of times but let’s throw in Dad working away, a Masters degree in Law, 3 kids under 3, including a newborn and you might have some idea of why I think this Mumma is Wonder Woman. This is the second time time that I have been invited to the Roy household and each time I leave I wonder just how do they do it? I think the simplest answer would be love. These parents are deeply committed and in love with one and another and their children, so no matter what gets thrown their way, they make it threw.

Enough of me trying to understand their lives, this trip was about Baby Marlo, the newest and squishiest addition, who I am told is normally a placid and peaceful baby but not as much on this day … I guess I have a way with kids. At just two weeks new Marlo could not have been more perfect. He’s growing rapidly and his love of food means that his cheeks are filling out perfectly (chubby cheeks are a fine feature on a baby). Of course being the third child does not come without its drama, he is fiercely (sometimes a little too much so) loved by his two older siblings and there is no such thing as a quiet nap, though Mumma is always there to protect him.

I relish the internet in that I will be able to see these children grow and their lives continue to develop. I am proud that I have had the opportunity to meet Marlo at the beginning of his life and within these photos make time stand still … even if it’s just for a moment.

To Baby Marlo
You have stumbled into a wonderful family who will love and protect you with all that they have. You have siblings who will no doubt drive you mad but when it comes down to it they will be there to lift you up. You are very blessed little baby.

To Mumma+Dad
You have an amazing family. I understand that right now you feel you are in trenches and that some days (and nights) are long, so you might not always see it but you are succeeding. Those three kids picked the right parents and are a great contribution to this world. Even though I know you will doubt yourself at times, you shouldn’t.
