Jade + Jake || A Townsville Wedding

A few years back in 2012 after being dragged to The Cactus Saloon in Townsville by friends to go dancing Jade found herself in awe of a tall, dark haired man with a great smile.

Nine years later the two finally tied the knot at the Hervey’s Range Heritage Tea Rooms, with a reception dinner at A Touch of Salt and it could not have been more perfect.

Jacinta + Thomas || A Malanda Wedding

Jacinta and Thomas had originally planned a big September wedding, however, 2020 had different ideas. We got together and did their engagement shoot (which you can see here) and at that point they were planning to postpone the wedding until the same time next year. Well as I’m sure you can already tell they couldn’t wait and on a picture perfect day in November, these two were wed.

Pip + Ben || Townsville Maternity

After meeting in high school and then spending the last 15 years adventuring together this pair decided to begin a new chapter of their lives and give their worshipped pooch a friend. Then Covid-19 hit and as they witnessed the chaos the world tumbled into, Pip and Ben agreed that maybe this was not the best time to create new life, however, as fate would have it this baby had already chosen them. So here we are, 30 weeks later and into their most memorable year to date.

Jacinta + Thomas || A Malanda Engagement

The number of times we have tried to do this engagement session was starting to get ridiculous, so even when the weather chose not to co-operate, we went ahead anyway. After all being native to the Atherton Tablelands, drizzly weather is something that Jacinta and Thomas are more than used to.

2019 || A Year that Was...

I’ve been quite for the last few months because I needed that time for myself, for my family, for the life we are building and because of all that has been happening through out the year. Now that January is over I feel like 2020 can really begin, that I can sink my teeth back in and no longer can I have a drink at 2pm and claim “it’s the festive season”. So even though I technically missed the start of the new calendar year and every has moved into the new, I would love to recap with my favourite images from the previous 12 months.

Kirstin + Bennett || A Townsville Couple || Townsville Couple Photographer

Back in February when Townsville was getting it’s fair share of rain I joined with a number of other local photographers to bring a little light into the lives of those affected. I (being myself) wanted to do it a little differently and instead of giving a photo session to those who had been displaced due to flooding, I gave mine to those who gave up their homes and took in family and friends. These people were nominated by strangers and loved ones and even though it’s just something you do in a time of crisis, it goes to show what big beautiful hearts they have.

Skeat Family || Townsville Maternity || Townsville Maternity Photographer

This morning was an early start, the session was at 6:3am, it was Father’s Day, my daughter’s birthday and it was just the time that worked best for us, and I’m so glad we did it this way. Hamish was fresh, happy and full of cheek, his parent’s probably would have liked more sleep but that’s just parent life 🙄 and the light, oh the light was just glorious. I could babble on for days about all the reasons why I love these photos but just keep scrolling and see for yourself, after all I’m a photographer not an author.

Kate + Tom || A Port Douglas Wedding || Port Douglas Wedding Photographer

It was a loving and intimate affair. The guests, just close family, travelled from all over to shower Tom and Kate with love on this most important of days.

St Mary’s by the Sea is the epitome of Port Douglas weddings and I could not think of a better place to be wed than in heritage listed church by the waterfront. Tom, who made great time in getting dressed and looked the part in bow tie and suit, was already waiting when I arrived. It was only moments later when the beauty of the day arrived and the ceremony could begin. Anna, the celebrate, told a story of Tom and Kate’s life long connection and how after meet at age 10 their friendship grew into the wonderful, loving connection they now have and after all this time the day ended with a new Mr and Mrs.

Maddie + Alex || A Forrest Beach Wedding || Hinchinbrook Wedding Photographer

I was SO super excited for Maddie + Alex’s Forrest Beach wedding. The intimate back yard nuptials were held on a Wednesday with their closest family and friends. Maddie, an Australian, and Alex, a Mexican live together Abu Dhabi, this alone was enough to grab my interest and this day did not disappoint.

First of all there was a cyclone - in May! The beach side wedding was a little windier than anticipated and what was supposed to be an open air reception became a little cozier inside a gazebo. It was all unexpected and a little unplanned but it was pulled off perfectly and you would never have known it.

Taani + Aron || A Mareeba Wedding || Mareeba Wedding Photographer

It was a beautiful intimate ceremony, which was made all that more special as Taani’s Mum was the celebrant. Taani + Aron were surrounded by their closest family and friends, many who had travelled large distances such as the Northern Territory and even New Zealand. The bridal party was an absolute blast to hang out with and there were many laughs and jokes all round.
