Marrington Family || An Ayr Family

You can’t get time back ...
So spend it on the things and people that matter
— @loveorrunaway

It’s been five years since I’ve seen the Marrington family but then we all know how time is racing past us at its frenzied rate. A lot has changed, the kids have grown but one thing is certain, genuine awe and love for one another remains.

What I love most about revisting the friends I meet through photography is seeing their growth. I’ve seen it multiple times now and I get almost giddy with excitement in the lead up because each time I am graced with witnessing profound growth and transformation. I get to observe families and kids that have morphed into better version of themselves, calmer, happier and more in love than they were first time. Of course this is mind blowing because I was already in awe of them.

I travelled down to Ayr for this session and let me tell you, it’s pretty down there! If you are in Ayr, hit me up, I’m keen to come back there is some very photogenic areas.

I was welcomed into what I believe is a quintessential cane town home and I absolutely fell in love with it and its occupants. Surrounded by paint and beautiful light it was quite literally a dream come true and for the next hour I got a glimpse into their world.

In home sessions will always hold a big piece of my heart because they tell such an intimate story of your life. There is always hesitation to invite someone new into your home but to have to them come to take photos adds another layer to that. From my perspective I both understand it but also feel it is unnecessary. As much as I loved this little Ayr abode, it was the family I loved more and it was the family I will remember more because that is what is most important.

As time speeds away this family will cherish being able to look back at this chapter in their lives and reminisce over this space and the memories that were formed here and now they have the photos to go with their memories. This chapter of their lives is captured and recorded and is now eternal, which is pretty cool when you really stop to think about it.
