In home sessions will always hold a big piece of my heart because they tell such an intimate story of your life. There is always hesitation to invite someone new into your home but to have to them come to take photos adds another layer to that. From my perspective I both understand it but also feel it is unnecessary. As much as I loved this little Ayr abode, it was the family I loved more and it was the family I will remember more because that is what is most important.

The easy answer is that it comes naturally to me. For the first time in my life I am able to do something that I am good at, enjoy and it just flows.
But that harder answer, the one that really hurts because it means the most is because of a day in January 2014. This was a day when I didn’t seize the moment and I didn’t take the photo, that’s the day that sticks to me like tar.
I was lucky enough to find Mia + Steve, in Townsville, after they responded to a model call I put out. They were exactly what I was looking for to create the vision I had, this session is that vision come to life.
Right from the start I fell in love with this quaint West End home, the snug rooms, warmed by the wooden floors, the neutral panelled walls and the windows which illuminated it all just perfectly.
