I am pretty certain that there could be no better location. Cheriese and her three boys spent the day revelling in the spring time warmth at Alma Bay, soaking up the joys of salt water and sand. It was early afternoon when I joined them and the bay was mostly ours, the sea breeze cool and refreshing and the sun rays warm and golden. We climbed rocks and explored their hidden secrets. There were many cuddles and much love shared. I learned of a mother’s love that would move mountains and raise glorious men. The boys outwardly showed that photos were not their thing but occasionally through this facade I would glimpse the excitement of being up to record their mother’s memories*.
Read MoreI’ve been quite for the last few months because I needed that time for myself, for my family, for the life we are building and because of all that has been happening through out the year. Now that January is over I feel like 2020 can really begin, that I can sink my teeth back in and no longer can I have a drink at 2pm and claim “it’s the festive season”. Read MoreI have a soft spot for mother/daughter relationships, probably because I spent so much time with my Mum growing up. They are a mix of love and turmoil, calm one minute and stormy the next. It is a powerful and beautiful thing when all the girls have is each other but it is also a relationship that is often filled with struggle.
Read MoreWhen I created this session I was ignorant and never realised what I would gain, this first family showed me that. It was my pleasure to spend the afternoon with them, I cherished every moment of it.
Read MoreI am fortunate enough that I get invited to enjoy many moments, milestones and ordinary (but no less special) days with my families. I get to experience different family dynamics, love and personalities. At the end of all my sessions I am told 'thank you' but what no one really understands is just how much I gain from each session.
